Salem Elementary's choir performed today to bring a little holiday cheer to the students and faculty. Tonight they will perform once again for parents.
Today Valley View Middle came and gave out information to future students and parents.
The last couple of days before Thanksgiving break Mrs. Hooley's class spent each afternoon learning about and doing different activities associated with Native Americans and Pilgrims. They made teepees, indian corn, clay pottery, pilgrim hats, and bracelets to help them understand the reasons we celebrate Thanksgiving.
We live in a wonderful community and want to thank the MANY businesses who supported the PTO Fun Run Fundraiser. Students lined up to sign certificates of appreciation as a token of their gratitude.
The Utah State Office of Education's POP Art Education and the Timpanogos Story Telling Institue provided a storytelling assembly for students and faculty at Salem Elementary. Dovie Thomason shared stories from her Kiowa Apache heritage as well as personal stories from her childhood. She comes from a long line of Native and European storytellers.
3rd grade is thankful for books - Harry Potter to be specific. Today they enjoyed a full day at Hogwarts!
Mrs. Hales' Kindergarten class enjoyed a fun Thanksgiving Feast today. They have been learning about manners, the proper way to set a table, and had a special lesson from Mrs. Tew about table manners. Before enjoying their feast they each shared some things they were thankful for. All our parents helpers were very impressed with the excellent manners the class used during their meal today. Happy Thanksgiving!
6th grade students are thankful to live in the United States! 6th grade students split their desks up to be equivalent to land mass and populations around the world. We then passed out cookies and money which were equivalent to the available food and gross product around the world. We then read stories about how children around the world live. It is an amazing day!
