Somebody Loves You

Salem fourth graders read the book, "Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch!", a sweet tale of how our actions, even small ones, can change lives. After, students made card kits that will be delivered to Primary Children's Hospital.  A special thanks to our Literacy Coach, Mrs. Coates, for helping us with this fun project.

One hundred days of school, time to celebrate!!

Kindergarten celebrated 100 days of school January, 28. We did 100 exercises, sat quietly for 100 seconds, made 100 day crowns, took a 100 step walk, watched 100 pennies magically change to $1.00, estimated what 100 drops of water looked like, and counted 100 objects.  It was a busy and fun day!

Last week was White Ribbon Week at Salem Elementary to teach kids about Media Safety and Anti Bullying.  To kick off the week, we had a Net Smart assembly to teach kids appropriate ways to use the internet.  Students were all given a white wristband to wear for the week.  On Wednesday, students and teachers were encouraged to wear white.  Thursday, students came to school dressed as their favorite super hero, and on Friday students dressed in school colors to show school spirit.
