With February comes lots of fun! Here are a few pics of some of our Valentine's Day actvities.
Good job to all those who participated in the school spelling bee, and congratulations to the winners: Nathan Swinford, first place; Cole Andersen, second place; and Nate Thorne, third place.
Mr. Vest was born in Provo and raised in Payson. He has 2 brothers and 1 sister. He is married and has 3 daughters.
In his spare time, Mr. Vest likes to hunt, fish, camp, and go four-wheeling and horse back riding. He enjoys good old "John Wayne" movies and loves U.S. history. When school is out for summer break, he spends his time farming mostly alfalfa and field corn.
Mrs. Lynn lives in Mona. She has 5 children- one boy and 4 girls. She loves to go on vacation to beaches, and enjoys quilting in her spare time. One of her bravest moments was getting into a hot air balloon.
Mrs. Lynn has taught first and third grades. She graduated with her bachelors from BYU and with her masters from SUU.
The STAR Award is a set of grade level specific goals that students work towards accomplishing throughout the school year. There are several goals to choose from in the following categories: Academic, Responsibility, Healthy Lifestyle, Service, and Character. Congratulations to the following students for all of their hard work earning the STAR Award this month. We also enjoyed the musical number, on the piano, by one of our third graders, Adam Snow.
Kindergarten celebrated the 100th Day of school by making a 100 gumballs, a tower of 100 cups, a necklace of 100 fruit loops, and a 100th day crown! They finished the day with a treat for all their hard work these first 100 days
Mrs. Albrecht grew up in Richfield-and is the oldest of four girls. She married her high school sweetheart and they have lived in Elk Ridge for 18 years. She has four amazing kids: one in college, twins in high school, and a kindergartener.
Mrs. Albrecht loves taking vacations with her family, eating out, and playing board games.
Mrs. Albrecht graduated from BYU and her first teaching job was as a 2nd grade intern in Goshen. She spent her years in the classroom as a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teacher. This is her 4th year as the instructional coach at Salem.
