Red Ribbon Week

Last week was Red Ribbon week at Salem Elementary! Red Ribbon Week is a week long effort in which everyone at school shows their support of being drug free by wearing a red ribbon.

Salem Elementary’s PTA planned several activities throughout the week to help students learn the importance of living a drug free life. Some of the activities that students participated in were: Red Day, crazy sock day, sport day, a classroom banner contest, and a day where the city of Salem provided an ambulance, police car and fire truck for students to see on their playground.

Fall Family Carnival

We would like to thank everyone that helped with and supported our Fall Family Carnival.  The classroon basket auction was a huge success, we were able to raise $3,100 to go towards a new marquee for the school.  The PTA appreciates all those that bid generously on the baskets and those that donated items to fill them.  Esplin Eye Center and Sunroc helped sponsor our carnival and Jeff Higginson was kind enough to be our auctioneer for the evening.
