Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways provide students with meaningful opportunities to explore their interests, develop real-world skills, and prepare for success in both college and careers. At Salem Hills High School, we proudly support a wide range of CTE Pathways that align with Utah’s Career Pathways framework and the national Career Clusters® model.
Each CTE Pathway is thoughtfully designed to:
Connect classroom learning to real-world experiences
Develop technical skills in high-demand career fields
Encourage exploration of personal interests and talents
Build a strong foundation for college, apprenticeships, or employment
CTE Pathways typically culminate in an industry-recognized certification or credential, giving students a competitive edge as they transition from high school into postsecondary education or the workforce.
Why Choose a CTE Pathway?
Engagement: Students are more engaged when they see how learning applies to real-life goals.
Confidence: Hands-on learning builds self-efficacy and problem-solving skills.
Preparation: CTE students graduate with not just a diploma, but a head start on a career.
Opportunity: According to Advance CTE, students who complete a CTE pathway are more likely to graduate on time and pursue postsecondary education. In fact, 95% of CTE students graduate from high school—10 percentage points higher than the national average.
Pathway Completion Recognition
Students who complete the required coursework (typically 3.0 credits in a specific CTE area) and meet all qualifications will be recognized with a CTE Medallion at graduation. This honor represents a student’s dedication, skill, and readiness for the future.
