Fourth graders walked to Salem Pond on Friday for a science investigation about wetlands, one of Utah’s three main environments.

Mrs. V. and Salem Super Kids

We read books this week about being kind and a Super Kid. We learned that kind is in kindergarten and we should treat others kindly. We put on ‘Super Kid Capes’ and promised to do super kind things for others!

The first day of kindergarten was very exciting. We observed a butterfly like scientists then let the butterfly go!

Parent Conference

For Nebo Parents--Uplift Parenting Conference

The Uplift Parenting Conference is the initiative of First Lady of Utah Jeanette Herbert. Five presenters will be giving Tips Talks. Presenters include: David Osmond, Brad Barton, Jessie Funk, Collin Kartchner, and Clay Olsen. Topics range from resiliency, addiction recovery, social media, and anxiety. Please see attached document for details.

The first day of kindergarten was a success in Mrs. Brickey’s classes! Students went on a tour of the school to find Pete the Cat, had Jitter Juice to calm their nerves, made new friends and drew a self portrait. We can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!

Hearing Screening

Nebo School District offers free hearing screenings for all Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 6th grade students each year. This year, the screenings will be held at Salem Elementary on Tuesday, September 3rd in the morning. Each child in these grade levels will be screened. It takes about 3-5 minutes.
