Mr. Welburn Reads to Students

Submitted by dorie.thatcher on

Each month our Principal, Mr. Welburn, reads to the students here at Salem Elementary.  Students are always very excited to hear the stories that he shares, and the stories are remembered and talked about throughout the year.  It has been a fun way for the students to get to know their principal a little better.  They look up to him for his love of reading, and appreciate him taking the time to share it with them.

Dr. Benjamin Hulse, DDS visited Salem Elementary second graders to teach them about proper dental hygeine.  Students learned about the affects sugar has on their teeth and how to properly brush and floss their teeth.     Students were smiling when they each received a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss.  Dr. Hulse practice is Salem Smiles, which just recently opened it's doors for business. Thank you Dr. Hulse for the wonderful presentation.

Christmas Bells

Mrs. Clayson's and Miss Savage's class were lucky to have one of their student's mother and grandmother come into their classrooms to enjoy, with the students, some Christmas music.   Students had a wonderful time ringing bells to some of their favorite songs.  It was such a great way to bring music into the classroom and to celebrate the season.
