Spring Orchestra Concert
The Mt. Loafer/Salem sixth grade orchestra performed their spring concert last week! The students have done a fantastic job this year learning the violin, viola, and cello. It was so fun to perform for their families and friends, and to celebrate how far they’ve come over the past eight months of playing their instruments!
World Tour
6th grade is presenting their country reports the last few days of school.
Transcontinental Railroad at the State Capitol
To commemorate the sesquicentennial of the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869, at Promontory Summit, Utah, Salem Elementary Fouth Graders visited the Utah State University's and the Utah Division of State History's new exhibit, “A World Transformed: The Transcontinental Railroad and Utah” , at the Utah State Capitol Building.
Terrific Kids
The Kiwanis Club updated our Terrific Kid plaque today with the names of the six 6th grade students that were choosen. Congrats to Vance, Brynn, Andrea, Macie, Daniel and Nathan!!!
Fiddle Club
Salem Elementary has a Fiddle Club. Any student with some violin experience can join the Fiddle Club. They have been meeting Tuesdays after school for about a half hour with Mrs. Bailey.
STAR Awards
Today the last group of STAR Awards were given out.
Students That Are Respectful and Responsible.
Aaron Snow from 6th grade shared a piano talent and the Fiddle Club also shared a music talent!
Salem Elementary 2nd Grade Program
Character Matters - The second grade performed a play about the importance of having character.
Monster Concert!
Last week, the Mt. Loafer/Salem Orchestra joined hundreds of other sixth grade orchestra students in the Nebo School District to perform in the annual Monster Concert! The students performed 11 songs - everything from fiddle tunes to classical pieces to a rock song! They worked so hard to prepare for this performance, and they sounded fantastic!
