Sixth Grade celebrated World Hunger Day, and it is one of the best days of the year. Students are separated into continents and given their actual share of the land mass, money, and food of their area. It is shocking and impacful. North America gets spoiled, Europe gets a good share, Asia is confined in a small space, and Africa doesn't get much of anything. At first students feel angry and later they always feel compassionate. It's a special day I wish everyone could experience. Instead of sharing photos, students wanted to share their journal entries.&n
Kindergarten celebrated Thanksgiving with a feast!
While learning about Utah's first people, fourth graders sculpted and painted mini pots. They also learned how to make a loom with a paper plate to weave dream catchers.
Mrs. Lewis' class has started learning about Ancient Greece and have made life sized Greek Gods.
The Discovery Gateway Children's Museum visited the Kindergartners at Salem Elementary. The Kindergartners did potential energy experiments with push and pull. They had a great time being scientist
On the night of November 15, 5th graders at Salem Elementary were on station and ready to come to life to present their annual “Night at the Museum” for parents and the community. This culminating activity had started a month and a half earlier, as each fifth grade student chose a famous person from history and then researched so they could do a biographical account on their famous person.
The Living Planet Aquarium Utah Waters Van is offered to 4th grade students throughout Utah. The content is specifically designed to correlate with the Utah State Office of Education’s Science Core Curriculum.
The district's art specialist came into the 3rd grade classrooms and taught them all how to draw and paint turkeys!
5th grade had a fun experience with a Star Wars Breakout game that helped them use critical thinking skills as well as teamwork!
