School Christmas Assembly

Submitted by dorie.thatcher on

On the last day of school before Christmas Break, Salem Elementary students gathered together to celebrate Christmas and reading.  Each grade level performed a Christmas song that they had been learning and practicing in Miss Priday's music class.  Between each performance a drawing was held to reward students who had earned and turned in their reading tickets.  Students whose names were drawn got to pick a prize from underneath the Christmas tree.

Random Acts of Kindness

This month the students from Miss Holthaus' class were encouraged to bring joy to others during this holiday by doing random acts of kindness for those around them. Their goal was for each student to do at least one anonymous kind act for a family member, neighbor, or friend each day this month. Each act of kindness was written down and added to their class chain of kindess that was displayed in their classroom. It was so much fun seeing how many people in their community they could help by being kind.
