Farm Field Day

Second Graders were very excited to visit Harward Farms for Farm Field Days.  Students enjoyed learning about agriculture in our home state of Utah.  We learned that milk comes from dairy cows,  hamburger comes from beef cows, eggs come from chickens, wheat grows in a field and is harvested and ground into flour, wool comes from sheep and is used to make clothing, and much, much more!   It was a fun day on the farm indeed!

Fourth-Grade Dance Night

On February 28th, the 4th graders at Salem Elementary celebrated a night of dancing with their parents. During fourth grade students are supposed to learn common folk dances and songs of Utah's history. Students worked for  5 weeks to learn folk dances set to authentic music. These included square dances, polka, and line dances. After learning all of the dances they invited a parent partner to come and dance with them after school. They enjoyed their time celebrating their learning with their families.
