On September 11, Salem Elementary was honored to have some of our country's service men and women, from within our community of Salem, visit our school. They talked to students about what they did to serve the United States of America, as well as what they do now to serve in our community. Students were fascinated to hear of what they did and how they lived while serving our country. We are so lucky to live in such a great country and community and are very grateful for the sacrifices made by these men and women.
Salem Elementary students are given the challenge to work on academic and personal goals throughout the year. When students complete the required number of goals, students are awarded the Superstar Award during a school assembly. The final awards assembly for the 2011-2012 school year was held on May 17. To show an example of hard work and dedication of working towards a goal, Eli Wilcox played his guitar and sang to us. Congratulations to those who earned the Super Star Award.
Sixth-graders are in a hurry to go somewhere...they ran their hearts out sweeping the girls 400 meter dash!
Salem Elementary Fifth-Graders dominated the track meet by placing in the top three in several of the events. Hopefully there will be pictures to come!
