On the last day of school before Christmas Break, Salem Elementary students gathered together to celebrate Christmas and reading. Each grade level performed a Christmas song that they had been learning and practicing in Miss Priday's music class. Between each performance a drawing was held to reward students who had earned and turned in their reading tickets. Students whose names were drawn got to pick a prize from underneath the Christmas tree. At the end of the assembly a grand prize drawing for two two stuffed animals, two remote control cars, and two bikes was held. Every students who has participated in the Ken Garff Reading program was rewarded with two movie passes. Kids left school that day full of excitment and anticipation for their Christmas Break!
