Red Ribbon Week

Submitted by dorie.thatcher on

Last week was Red Ribbon week at Salem Elementary! Red Ribbon Week is a week long effort in which everyone at school shows their support of being drug free by wearing a red ribbon (or bracelet).

Several activities werer planned throughout the week to help students learn the importance of living a drug free life. Some of the activities were: an assembly with K-9 officers and their dogs, a jump rope assembly, a day where the city of Salem provided an ambulance, police car and fire truck for students to see on their playground, and finally a day where all students were encouraged to wear red.

Students learned about different drugs and why it is important to stay away from them.  Salem Elementary pledges to stay drug free!
