It is a well known fact at Salem Elementary that when you enter the fifth-grade you will get to learn to play the recorder.  It is something that every student anticipates, for they have had the privilege of watching the fifth-graders perform Christmas songs on their recorders each year.

Fifth-graders are dedicated to learning to play this musical instrument, and by the time their Recorder Concert rolls around they are ready to deliver a great performance.  During the last week of school before Christmas Break, Fifth-graders weave their way through the school making an appearance in each classroom to perform some Christmas songs.  They also share there talent with their parents during a Recorder Concert.

Good job fifth-graders, and keep practicing that musical instrument.
