Sidewalk Artists

Last week fourth graders performed a readers theater in class titled "Sidewalk Artists".   After perfoming the readers theater, students went outside to the sidewalks and put their art skills to work!

Pumpkin Time

On Wednesday, Salem Elementary students received a wonderful surprise.  Harward Farms donated a pumpkin to each student in the school.  Students were grinning from ear to ear as they got to take a pumpkin home. Thank you Harward Farms!

Red Ribbon Week

Next week is Red Ribbon Week.  Here is a schedule of the daily activities.

Monday- wear red, Tuesday- wear your favorite sports team uniform, Wednesday- crazy hair day, Thursday- crazy socks, Friday-Halloween costume.

Fourth Grade Visits Cemetery

Fourth graders walked up to the Salem City Cemetery last week to participate in several learning activities. Students used subtraction to solve and find how many years people lived, looked for people who had served in the military, and also tried to find the person who was born the earliest in history.

Students observed the plants and animals that they saw, as well as the weather and clouds.  They also looked for unique designs on headstones and did pencil rubbings.

eBooks, Audiobooks, and More...

Salem Elementary in conjunction with Nebo School District is committed to bringing unique learning opportunities to our students, and we are pleased to introduce a new, free reading service providing digital nooks through OverDrive.  The OverDrive collection is an extension of our physical library, only it's online with 24/7 access to eBooks and auidobooks.  It's a convenient way for students to check out titles at home, on the weekends, or during school breaks.
