Monster Masks

Don't let them scare you! Mrs. Larson's class integrated art with reading the first week of school. After reading a story about a monster coming to school and breaking all of the rules because he had never been taught them, Mrs. Larson's class created monster mask and wrote the classroom rules on the back of them. They learned about cool/warm colors along with primary/secondary colors while showing these monsters they know how to act in school

Constitution Day

James Madison (Joshua Neves) surprised Mrs. Larson's class when he showed up to share with them about the constitution. He taught why we need the constitution, laws, rules, and leadership through a paper clip game, a space activity, and a role play with his daughter, Grace. Mrs. Larson's class learned so much and had a blast doing it! Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Neves!

Harry Potter Visits Hogwarts

As September started, the 6th grade students arrived at school to find Salem Elementary transformed to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizzardry. Students were greeted by Professor McGonigal and the gameskeeper Rubius Hagrid. Each student was sorted into their respective houses, travelled through platform 9 and 3/4, and then taken to their room which had been transferred into the great hall. Students made their own wands and are now listening to the story, Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone.
